After convincingly laying the specter of “#SELFIE” to rest with their first
what should have been #1 on the Hot 100 Top 10 charting single “Roses,” The Chainsmokers are already focused on what’s next on the hit horizon. While the New York duo has released a slew of songs since “Roses” dropped in June 2015, Drew Taggart tells Billboard that he believes “Don’t Let Me Down” will be seen as the follow-up to the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart-topper.
The new hit features up-and-comer Daya, who has taken radio by storm somewhat in the last couple of months with her debut single, “Hideaway“. Already starting to make early waves on radio in the US and in Europe, it is clear that the Chainsmokers are back in the game and here to stay!
PS. We’re not necessarily here to make comparisons, but the chorus production did automatically remind us of a certain song that went completely ignored by radio almost ten years ago. Was she ahead of her time or did she just have a case of bad luck?
