Much talked about newcomer Bryson Tiller claimed the #2 spot on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart with the release of his first LP ‘T R A P S O U L‘ in October last year. The 14 track album also debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart and #11 on the Billboard 200 chart but it has taken a while for the public to get into lead single “Don’t”, which has at long last been given the recognition it deserves, sitting at #1 on Urban radio for 3 weeks in a row and closing in on top 10 at the rhythm format! If you ask us, this is the perfect set up for it to cross over to pop radio later this month in the US and we’ll be keeping a close eye on the development of the song going into the middle stages of the year.

The Louisville native, who has been called an “artist to watch” by Rolling Stone, The Fader, us and VIBE  has built a strong following for himself via the internet with the help of “Don’t” as well as fan favourites such as “Sorry Not Sorry” & “Exchange” also selling through nicely on DSP’s around the world. This has helped the 22 year-old catch the attention of various music industry heavyweights such as Drake, Timbaland and Travis Scott, who Bryson recently opened up for in Los Angeles before starting his own sold out tour.

T R A P S O U L’ is the first release from Bryson’s recently announced creative partnership with RCA Records and the album has done a fair amount of volume digitally in South Africa. Demand for it is at such a level that the album was physically released in stores by Sony Music on Friday the 4th of March and this is just the beginning of great things to come for him this year (go get your copy in stores now, yeah!)
